The world's first OLED TV with G-SYNC!! #LGOLEDTV #Gsync

The one thing keeping LG's OLED C9 TV from being an incredible gaming display is variable refresh rate. That all changes today with a firmware update allowing Turing-based GPUs to leverage the VRR feature of the TV's HDMI 2.1 port. Here's how to get it working.

Hmmm would my 1080ti run the 120hz via HDMI, on the 43" LG UN7300 TV? I am planning on saving up for the 3080ti later this year.

Many thanks! Exactly what I'm looking for.
But can you answer me two questions? Does the TV / VRR also support freesync? It should, or am I wrong?
And what Hz range does the TV / VRR support?
Would be awesome, if you answer.
Greetings from Germany

What resolution were you playing at? And what VRR range does it have? I’d love one of these, but my 2080 ti doesn’t have HDMI 2.1 and for whatever reason tv manufacturers still won’t add display port (even though 10-15 years ago flatscreen TVs had vga ports, shocker, I know)

samsung has had freesync TV's out for awhile..just saying...whats really going on is Nvidia pays companies to put Gsync on the box when its really FreeSync lol, its just a driver work around to obey FreeSync...if there is no physical chip its not Gsync period! these panels are native that company is shady, another channel covered this very topic how they started doing this about a year ago when they realized they were loosing money to AMD FreeSync monitors because they do the same thing for way less money and hence the new drivers support FreeSync, but they use Gsync because they would have to admit AMD is doing it better and of course Nvidia has to be center of attention just like Intel...AMD can never have credit for anything, 2 most insecure companies i have ever seen...they should get married, they deserve each other.

FYI: Current nvidia cards only support hdmi2.0 limited 4k/60hz you're playing over 100fps do the math. In mean time if you want higher frame you can do 1440 120hz.

Did you have to turn on VSYNC in the NVIDIA control panel to get rid of tearing? I found even with G SYNC on, I got tearing and had to enable it in the control panel and disable it in games. Weird, but it is my first time with a G SYNC anything.

yes turn V-Sync on and set frame limit to 118fps if you using 120hz or 58fps if using 60hz.

VRR over HDMI won't work for 10 series GTX cards despite the fact that they have the same HDMI 2.0b ports that newer cards have because Nvidia wants you to do unnecessary upgrades, especially if you own a 1080 Ti.

Dwight Dockery I will weight in on this issue. I have over 700 hours on my 2018 C9 65”. With Zero Burn-in. My OLED is for movie watching and maybe occasional gaming. I would say 90% of my content consumption is video and the rest is gaming or sharing PC content. The only time you run the risk of burn-in is when running HDR content back-to-back no stop or gaming for hours on end.

aBoogivogi - 6 måneder siden
They will support AFR over HDMI. Considering his audience it's really not much of a stretch to make that obvious. Heck even the G-Sync stuff is just a certification. There is no G-Sync chip in the screen so the tech that's actually at play here is AFR regardless.

I have an issue I need help with. IF YOU CONNECT YOUR PC DIRECTLY TO YOUR Tv TO USE GSYNC, how do you use your surround sound and get 5.1 or 7.1. Gsync on the tv works great but it’s at the cost of sound and using my surround sound. Do I have any options getting my receiver to get the 7.1 signal?

It's not just PC games - you can play arcade games through MAME at their original refresh rate and correct speed with no tearing, stutter, input lag or audio glitches. This is important as arcade machines ran at all sorts of refresh rates from 50 to 60+ Hz. e.g. Mortal Kombat runs at 54.8Hz and Pacman runs at 60.6Hz.

That is latency, and stuttering, not tearing. Unfortunately, the term "tearing" has morphed into a catch-all phrase which used to exclusively mean that the image actually splits. Yes, refresh rate fluctuations can cause tearing, but "tearing" is not what happened here. As far as HDMI 2.1 goes....TV manufacturers that want to market their TV's for gaming should be implementing DisplayPort I/O instead of forcing PC GPU developers to bow down to the latest HDMI standards to appease the TV crowd. Want to game with a TV? Buy a console. Funny thing about all of this is -- gamers complained about glossy screens on gaming PC monitors for decades, as if they for even one day used their PC for a workstation, yet not one word from those same people about the 55 inches of massive gloss from an LG OLED TV. You ruined the gloss PC monitor market -- too bad there aren't enough of your demographic to ruin it for the TV market.
PkGam - 8 måneder siden
I can definitely attest that V-sync is a game-changer. I'd always notice tearing which was maddening and while it doesn't always work, it's still a massive improvement. G-sync is even better, though it's not flawless either. Again, still way better than nothing though! I think why they both don't work all the time is because PC gaming is extremely variable between the differing hardware people have and the differing ways games use that hardware. But I can't say for sure as I'm not a hardware developer, nor a programmer, lol! I just know from playing PC games that there's a lot of troubleshooting that goes into the whole experience.
